What Did We Find?
The 2024 H3AT Team and community scientist volunteers collected 431,348 data points on August 10, 2024. The highest observed temperature was 103˚F. More interestingly, we observed a 14˚F difference between the hottest and "coolest" neighborhoods where we mapped heat data in Houston.
H3AT Results and Resources
The H3AT Team has created several resources that outline and explain the findings from the 2024 H3AT Campaign in more detail. There are reports, map viewers, data downloads, and a StoryMap that help tell the full story of the 2024 Campaign.

CAPA Strategies provided the heat mapping sensors, processed the data, and created a heat report with the Campaign results.
This campaign was made possible through funding provided by the USDA Forest Service, Urban and Community Forestry Program. This is part of a larger initiative, called ForUsTree: Creating an Inclusive Community Canopy within Houston and Harris County, which aims to increase tree canopy, foster community resilience, and improve access to employment in underserved communities in Houston and Harris County.
